The convergence of light, chemistry and polymers makes an interesting and intriguing topic. The impact of light on molecules changes electron energies with emission of heat, fluorescence and phosphorescence. Absorption of light gives colour. Light can induce chemical reactions that may differ from those promoted by heat. Combining light with polymers provides fascinating combinations of phenomena that are creating new technologies, products and stimulating research. Professor Norman S.
