Unstable economies and demographic shifts are exacerbating skill shortages in the chemistry sector. Improvements to workforce planning can help recruiters to meet the challenge. Identifying and sourcing specialist skills sets within the scientific sector has become increasingly difficult recently. While business confidence has been increasing on the return from the global financial crisis, evident in increased demand for products and services, many industries in this country that are -key employers of chemistry professionals'continue to be influenced by global trends and rising costs of living in Australia.
