Shih-Chun Lo and Paul Burn describe their activities on dendrimers that can be optimised to give desired opto-electronic and processing properties. Recently, in collaboration with Ifor Samuel (University of St Andrews, UK), solution processable green, red and blue phosphorescent dendrimers have been developed and have led to highly efficient OLEDs with simple two-layered device architecture to provide the colour gamut necessary for full-colour displays.
