SMOKING BAN FLIES IN FACE OF VENTILATION TESTS

New research seems to prove that politicians have been misled over the effectiveness of ventilation in pubs. The Fan Manufacturers' Association (FMA) has mounted a fierce defence of the ventilation industry, following the Government's decision to press ahead with a smoking ban in many public places. During the highly controversial debate in the House of Commons, the industry was criticised for failing to come up with a technical solution, but field research carried out by the University of Glamorgan and due to be published later this year appears to back the ventilators.
