I read with interest the article on pp. 6-7 of the May 2010 issue about coal seam gas (CSG) production in Queensland. CSG is of course composed of methane and a synonym for it is coal bed methane (CBM). The statement that it is 'environmentally friendly' is a little difficult to understand. Surely it is no more and no less environmentally friendly than natural gas obtained from gas fields or, as 'associated gas', from oil fields.
