Thirteen brilliant Year 11 and 12 students will use brains instead of brawn in their quest for Olympic gold when they take on the worlds best in the 2009 International Science Olympiads. The science stars will go head to head with hundreds of students from all over the world in biology, chemistry and physics competitions in Tsukuba (Japan), Merida (Mexico) and Cambridge (UK) in July, thanks to funding from the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, Merck Sharp & Dohme and Monash University.
