Producing Hereford beef from a system based on grass and local feeds is proving to be the perfect farming formula for Henry and Esther Rudge on their mixed farm at Ballingham Court near Ross-on-Wye. Not only does the system sustain their farm in profitable livestock production, but it also works in environmental harmony with the area of outstanding natural beauty in which they farm, while enhancing the local community in which they, and generations before them, have raised their families.
