2012 has proven a successful year for Traditional Herefords, with the growth and prosperity of the Hereford Breed in general, as producers both in the UK and abroad are continually seeking our Hereford characteristics to inject into their pedigree andcommercial herds. Dutch Hereford Breeder Lida Stork purchased the proven English herd sire Albany O'Gara for live export in 2011, which is the second Traditional bull to be exported and used on her now well-established herd at Hot Te Boekelo, Holland. His first calves are now on the ground as of summer 2012, and although the weather may be a little more extreme in the Netherlands, Lida runs a similar grass-fed operation to many producers in the UK, selling her Hereford beef in boxes to an appreciativegroup of loyal customers. Lida says, "My customers like the Traditional Hereford meat as it is consistently good from one beast to the next, and has a wonderful flavour from our grass-fed system."
