MATERIALSCIENCE REPORTS RECORD QUARTERLY SALES

The Bayer Group of Leverkusen, Germany, has announced that its sales of ?10 177 million for the second quarter of 2012 were up by 10% in comparison with the second quarter of2011, while its MaterialScience business generated the highest quarterly sales in its history. MaterialScience posted sales of ?2962 million, up by 6.5% in comparison with the ?2782 million the business reported for the second quarter of 2011. The Management Board Chairman of Bayer Group, Marijn Dekkers, says: "MaterialScience achieved shghtly higher selling prices and volumes overall."
