Demolition firms pay 382k pounds for concrete beam collapse

Two sister firms have been fined a total of ?215,000 after an electrician was killed when concrete joists fell on him. John Walker, who worked for 777 Environmental, died on a demolition site on Walworth Road, London in August 2007. He was working in an area of the site near two remote controlled demolition machines. When the machines broke through a structural beam, they dislodged several concrete joists, which hit Walker.
