Effect of ultraviolet radiation on human health

摘要

The National Radiological Protection Board has published the seventh report of the Advisory Group on Non-ionising Radiation on the health effects of ultraviolet radiation (UVR). The Advisory Group was required to "review work on the biological effects of non-ionising radiation relevant to human health and to advise on research priorities".This report updates the previous review of the health effects from UVR. Both natural and artificial sources of exposure have been considered, in addition to experimental studies relevant to the understanding of UVR effects on cells and tissues. The Advisory Group also examined information on the clinical effects of UVR and the results of epidemiological studies, with the aim of providing advice on the health effects of exposure.
