'Astonishing' vibration failures shake 190k pounds from aerospace manufacturer

An aerospace engineering company has been ordered to pay more than 190,000 pounds after 24 of its workers were diagnosed with vibration related nerve damage. The HSE was notified that an employee at SPS Aerostructures' premises in Annesley, Nottinghamshire, had developed hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS) in 2010. But an HSE investigation showed the problem dated to 2005, when SPS's health and safety committee asked the company to assess the risk of vibration exposure.
