Health and safety is once again high on the agenda, with the new government promising to review health and safety laws and the press continuing to label the health and safety profession spoil sports. However, the fact remains that health and safety management is about protecting lives. The profession is needed to protect workers and the public from serious harm and it is lobbying for the balance not to be tipped in the opposite direction, leaving many at risk of injury.
