Energy distributor UK Power Networks has been forced to pay more than ?1 million after a jogger was electrocuted by a low-hanging llkV powerline. Dr James Kew died after he came into contact with the high-voltage cable, which should have been 5.5m above the ground, as he ran along a public footpath in Newport, Essex, on 24 July 2012.
