The 2007 ban on smoking conventional cigarettes in enclosed workplaces in the UK bedded down easily for most employers but, as this magazine has highlighted before, the vogue for e-cigarettes has introduced a new wrinkle. An Employment Tribunal decision in late February highlights the questions that employers should consider to ensure their smoking policies are transparent, and their organisation has a clear stance on this sometimes contentious health issue.
