Profession is still plagued by salary cuts and freezes

FIVE out of six health and safety professionals in the construction sector had their wages frozen or cut in the 12 months to November. Across the whole of the private sector, two-thirds of practitioners accepted pay freezes or reductions. The findings are in this year's HSW salary survey, which includes data on the pay and conditions of almost 700 UK health and safety advisers, managers, consultants and heads of function.
