IN the news section of the website, among the recent stories that haven't made it into the magazine are the 12,000 pounds fine for bookmaker Coral Racing after assaults on staff at two of its Southend-on-Sea shops (www .healthandsafetyatwork.com/hsw/ samurai-sword). In one of these a relief manager was attacked with a Samurai sword. Coral had failed to carry out risk assessments for workplace violence and assailants easily got behind the counters to threaten staff.
