Stress prevention - researchers find practical solutions

GOOD PRACTICE in stress prevention has been highlighted by criteria developed from a review of recent research. These were used to identify organisations that could be considered examples of best practice. Beacons Of Excellence In Stress Prevention was funded by the HSE and prepared by business psychology specialists Robertson Cooper Ltd and UMIST School of Management. At car manufacturers Rolls-Royce, management are committed to stress prevention for their employees and introduced a mental health policy in the company's health and safety manual. This was supported by a training course on stress awareness and risk assessment for their workforce and better performance has been reported throughout the working environment.
