摘要

One of the most serious environmental threats of modern civilization, namely, soil degradation and, respectively, the loss of soil resources, is discussed in this article. This danger, which is approaching a global scale, has been in the focus of scientists' and specialists' attention for a long time. However, in the authors' opinion, the measures taken on legislative, administrative, and economic protection of soil resources are far from being sufficient.
