A BRIEF glance at the recruitment advertisements at the back of this or any health and safety magazine will show that the jobs market is less buoyant than in previous years. There is a large cohort of practitioners chasing a reduced number of vacant posts, as many people who might have moved stay put while they wait for evidence of an economic revival. But for those who fall into that expanding group of jobhunters, advice on how to increase their chances of winning a job they want is at a premium.
