It has three sub-elements: B5.1 Describe the strategies, methods and equipment for the sampling and measurement of airborne contaminants B5.2 Outline the principles of biological monitoring B5.3 Outline the statutory and other requirements for the monitoring and maintenance of control measures for hazardous substances. "Suitable procedure" refers to the HSE's series of Methods for the Determination of Hazardous Substances (MDHS) guides, which are all now available at www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/mdhs/index.htm, except MDHS 39/4 -Asbestos Fibres in Air, which is only available as hard copy from HSE Books (www.hsebooks.com).
