Workplace transport safety was one of the Health & Safety Commission's priorities in its targets for reducing accidents rates, set out in its Revitalising Health & Safety Strategy in June 2000. Now HSC has launched a discussion document on workplace transport.Giving the keynote speech to a London conference, organised by the health & Safety Executive, Dr Alan Whitehead MP, Minister with responsibility for health and safety at the Department for Transport, Local Government and the Regions (DTLR), said: "I support the HSC's decision to make workplace transport a priority to meet those targets, but there is a responsibility on all of us - government, management and workers - to make it happen. I welcome the publication. Which will take forward the work that is already underway."
