摘要

It is hard to name at least the first ten basic devel- opments that predetermined the advance of geological theory and practice primarily because their priority in most cases is difficult to determine accurately. An undeniable priority very rarely survived. For example, in reading articles by Academician M.A. Usov [1], printed in several copies on wrapping paper in 1931, I saw that they had foreseen the most interesting elab- orations of the prominent German geologist H. Schneiderh?hn [2, p. 486]. Moreover, G. Chen's "diwa structures," so much advocated by Academi- cian A.D. Shcheglov [3, p. 325], were characterized in Usov's essay on Siberian tectogenesis.
