摘要

The development of additives to give lube oils high antiwear and antifriction properties is due to the necessity of both reducing friction losses and of solving the "no-wear" problem. According to the molecular-mechanical theory in [1, 2], the friction force is determined by the deformation and adhesive constituents. The former is due to the reciprocal introduction of microirregularities in the contacting bodies and the second is due to formation and breaking of adhesive bonds.
