Climate Change Bill Clears House Energy and Commerce Committee

Keeping the vow that the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee would pass the climate change bill before the Memorial Day weekend, the committee passed the 946-page bill late Thursday evening, by a vote of 33-25 along mostly party lines."Today the Committee took decisive and historic action to promote America's energy security and to create millions of clean energy jobs that will drive our economic recovery and long-term growth," said committee chairman Rep. Henry A. Waxman (D-Calif.) who had pledged previously that the committee would pass H.R. 2454 before the holiday recess.
