Chinese Government to Boost Crude Reserves, Build Capacity, Push Clean Energy

The Chinese government on May 18 announced plans to build up state reserves of refined fuels to 10 million metric tons by 2011 in addition to its existing crude reserves of 100 million bbls.Beijing also said it will aim to cut pollution with stricter emissions standards, as well as raise annual crude oil processing capacity to 405 million metric tons by 2011.
