The cost of producing lithium-ion batteries remains the key prohibitive factor in commercializing lithium-ion batteries for use in hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles, a January 2009 U.S. Department of Energy report said.The report, which is an annual progress report on the DOE's research and development programs on advanced batteries, is available here.
