Canada Flirts with Alt Fuel Projects

Two groups in Canada announced separately projects that could ultimately lead to the displacement of gasoline.First, Royal Dutch Shell and cellulosic biofuels producer Iogen said that for a month, starting June 10, a Shell station in Ottawa would be supplying regular gasoline that's been blended with 10% cellulosic ethanol. The ethanol, produced at Iogen's demonstration plant, uses locally-grown wheat straw as its feedstock.
