In India, Talk of Increasing Ethanol Blend Levels to 20%

State officials in India, who are already planning to increase ethanol blending in gasoline from 5%, to 10%, in October, are already beginning to advocate still higher concentrations. Shri Subramanian, Secretary of India's Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has called for a mandatory 20% blending rate for renewable fuels and included the proposal in a draft plan for the new National Biofuel Development Board.
