API: U.S. Gasoline Production Hits New January Record

Despite gasoline prices being as high as $3 per gallon, U.S. refiners achieved record gasoline production for the month of January, the American Petroleum Institute (API) said in its monthly statistical report. Refiners produced 9 million b/d of gasoline in January, compared to the 4.2 million b/d they produced of distillate.
