High-Value Products Boost Sunoco's Profits; Projects Readied for 2007 Start

Second quarter refining margins based on conventional gasoline (CG) and heating oil were plenty strong on the U.S. East Coast, but Sunoco, like most other refiners, enhanced its income via production of ethanol RBOB and ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD). The Philadelphia refiner/marketer is reinvesting some of that income in capitol projects that will increase yield of the higher-value products, a top executive said.
