摘要

Developments have occurred in high-temperature and jet engineering, which requires operation in fields of intense radiation and heat, which needs materials capable of absorbing, dissipating, and as far as possible giving prolonged resistance to intense heat fluxes, i.e., act as sacrificial layers for the main structure. These materials should have low ablation rates in intense thermal fluxes. The term ablation is widely used, particularly by geographers and ecologists, to characterize the gradual damage to the surface of the material, including rocks under the influence of external factors.
