The impact of rapid development in genetic engineering on the poultry industry worldwide is discussed, in sections which cover: the knowledge base (inheritance processes, the role of nutrients, immune systems and health, etc.); genetic engineering;transgenic organisms; transgenic poultry; genetic engineering supports a clean environment; altered egg contents; recombinant DNA technology; and transgenic bioreactors.
