Daily operations in the oil and gas industry can be challenging: from harsh environments in remote locations to the compatibility and reliability of equipment. To meet the specific demands of the individual segments of the oil and gas industry, Atlas Copco is developing turnkey solutions. One of the first examples of an Atlas Copco turnkey solution can be found in Siberia, where it is used for stress testing large diameter pipelines. The oil and gas industry is increasingly relying on high pressure pipelines. While pipelines handle gas transport at lower transportation costs, they also require a heavy capital investment. Recent estimates often exceed US$ 1 billion per 1000 km for large diameter and long distance networks.
