The TCV - an innovative method of transportation

Pneumatic and hydraulic tube transport of granular solids is not without its problems. A system that can tolerate pumping stoppages without choking was needed. Author Ian Doig outlines the development of the travelling check valve (TCV) - a flexible tube check valve of the pinch type. A superior TCV is now able to tolerate higher downstream pressures and not be vulnerable to granules entering the pipe wall pawl-engaging grooves.
