Subsea pigging and hydrostatic testing

Halliburton's Subsea Pigging Unit (SPU) and Subsea Hydrotesting Unit (SHU) are technologies for remote flooding and testing of newly fabricated pipelines in water depths up to 2,000 m. The SPU has the capability to filter and chemically treat flooding water while continuously regulating and monitoring the flooding and pigging operation autonomously, and without the need for umbilicals or constant attendance by a support vessel. The SHU allows hydrostatic testing operations to be completed entirely on the seabed, moving the risks posed by high-pressure fluids to a location far removed from personnel.
