Statoil's Yeti prospect proves oil in Gulf of Mexico

Statoil has made an oil discovery in its Miocene Yeti prospect in the Gulf of Mexico. "The Yeti discovery expands the proven sub-salt Miocene play further south and west of Big Foot field," said Statoil's Jez Averty, senior V.P., exploration, North America. "We are analyzing data to determine the size of the discovery, to consider future appraisal options."
