摘要

Vinyl acetate homopolymer and copolymer latices have been used widely for coatings applications. Stabilisation of these latices during the course of polymerisation and storage is of great importance.Generally the stabilisation of VAc latices succeeds by using partially hydrolysed polyvinyl alcohol. This produces small particle diameter, thixotropic flow, high viscosity stability even at low temperatures, but it has some disadvantages such as weak resistance properties of films against water, heat and creep.
