Going beyond the 2010 directives — Eco compliant polyurethanes for parquet coatings

Waterborne parquet coatings are classified in groups 1C and 2C within EU directives, with an accompanying maximum VOC limit of 140 g/l from 2007 and 2010. However, with current technology capable of achieving near zero VOC levels, manufacturers see benefits of marketing their products with eco-compliant certificates (eg Blue Angel or Ecolabel). It is probable that maximum VOC limits will become even more stringent in future.
