Graffiti paints are comprised of dye and solvent and once applied to a coatings surface, the dye molecules diffuse into the coating. The deeper the penetration, the more difficult it is to remove the graffiti. One approach identified in the patent literature is the use of fluorinated or silicone-modified coatings which reduce wetting by the graffiti paint.
