Evaluation of Veterinary Training in Europe

Supervision of training has been a prime duty for the liberal professions. It remains essential if professional qualifications, and thus the quality of service provided by its members to the public, are to be maintained. Indeed, could it be otherwise?What would be the competence of government officials or even university authorities to set standards of training for engineers, lawyers, doctors or veterinarians? Would there be any shred of public confidence in a professional who has undertaken an entirely academic course of study according to a syllabus set by bureaucrats?
