Hatchery operators get tips on VHS avoidance at biosecurity workshop

With the Viral Hemorrhagic Septicemia (VHS) virus causing anxiety among fish breeders around the Great Lakes in the United States, the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) and other organizations recently received a full-house turnout for a crucial aquaculture and hatchery biosecurity workshop in Reynoldsburg. According to state veterinarian Dr. Tony Forshey the one-day program was designed to give fish farm and hatchery operators an overview of the critical need for facility owners to step up theirbiosecurity.
