Total Artemia replacement has made tremendous strides in proving its worth at cod hatcheries in Norway, according to a major feed producer's representative who covers the European aquaculture industry. But there's been some apparent reluctance among warm-water species producers in the Mediterranean. Nick King, who is technical manager for the marine-hatchery feed division of Skretting, said in interview recently that the changeover in the Norwegian cod-hatchery program also took some time to take hold.
