Path coefficient analysis for seed yield in French marigold (Tagetes patula L.)

摘要

Fifteen genotypes of French marigold were evaluated for path coefficient analysis for seed yield. The characters were tested for their direct and indirect effect on seed yield. The characters like number of buds per plant, fresh weight of flower, duration of flowering, dry weight of flower and seed density exhibited positive direct effect. Genotypic correlation with flower yield was significant for number of buds per plant, number of flowers per plant and fresh weight of flower indicating these characters' important contribution towards seed yield.
