Performance of hot pepper as affected by different protection covers and planting dates

摘要

The present investigation was conducted to study the performance of hot pepper as affected by different protection covers i. e. polythene low tunnel, polythene bags, polythene sheet, rice straw and uncovered (control) and planting dates (November planting, December planting and January planting). It was noticed that maximum yield was recorded during December planting (1518.72 g/plant). Minimum number of days to flower initiation was also obtained during December planting (109.80 days). Among all protection covers, polythene low tunnel treatment resulted in maximum yield and quality characters. Thus, it was concluded that chilli performed better under polythene low tunnel treatment during December planting.
