摘要

The study was undertaken in Hisar city of Haryana state on 60 teachers drawn from six selected schools with the objective to delineate the human ecological factors affecting emotional intelligence skills of school teachers. Study concluded that the micro and meso systems of human ecological environment are very important as human being is surrounded by these systems and family is viewed as the primary context in which children's emotional competencies are developed. In the present study also the micro-system factors of the respondents such as age, birth order, family income, marital status and exposure to mass media revealed a significant association with emotional intelligence skills of teachers. Meso-system variables of the respondents such as father's education and popularity in social group also reported significant association with emotional intelligence skills of teachers, tt may be suggested that educational units like Departments of Human Development and Family Studies, Child Development, Sociology, Psychology, etc. should take responsibility to create awareness among families and communities regarding importance of these systems for the development of emotional intelligence skills of the persons.
