Value of diagnostic and therapeutic laparoscopy for abdominal impalement injuries

We commend Lin et al. [1] for having demonstrated how safe, feasible, and successful laparoscopy is in expert hands in the setting of diagnosis and treatment of hemodynami-cally stable patients sustaining penetrating abdominal trauma (PAT) from stab wounds. Furthermore, we concur with Brand [2] in the opinion of identifying the types of PAT most suitable for a laparoscopic management. In this respect, we would like to include abdominal impalement injuries (All) among such indications.
