Marcellus output to dictate US gas prices.

Moving forward, the price of natural gas in the US will be most heavily impacted by output from the vast Marcellus shale play in die northeastern part of the country according to Cabot Oil & Gas, which currendy produces 1.2B cf/d (34MM m~3/d) of gas in the play. Marcellus producers have expressed concern that returns on projects could be poor as gas prices in the region have dropped recendy to $3.30/MMBtu, scaring potential investors and casting uncertainty over the level of production that can be expected from Marcellus in the future.
