According to the EIA, the national average retail price for regular gasoline was $2.819/gal on Oct. 11, an 8.7φ/gal jump from the Oct. 4 price and the highest in five months, while RFG's national average was $2.873/gal, an 8.6φ/gal rise on the week. Houston, Texas' $2.64/gal was the lowest price for both regular gasoline and RFG, while San Francisco, California's $3.126/gal was the highest for both grades. Pump prices are largely being driven higher by rising crude costs.
