Spot product prices rebounded in the shortened trading week to Nov. 23, as the market was closed on Thursday for the Thanksgiving Day holiday, and many players were absent for the rest of the period. During a quiet week, gasoline prices found support from the US EIA's inventory report, which showed a 1.6MM-bbl drop to 200.4MM bbl. On the East Coast, however, prices in the New York Harbor (NYH) continued to come down from recent highs as the market corrected itself following the supply disruptions caused by Superstorm Sandy earlier in the month. Supplies arrived via pipeline from other US regions, such as the Gulf Coast and Midwest, as well as on barge from Europe. RBOB prices in the NYH fell alongside those for gasoline. On the West Coast, an early-week gasoline price driver was found in a mishap at Valero Energy's 78K-b/d Wilmington, California refinery.
